Finger Waves

GET THE LOOK: On the heels of the past year's huge bob trend, we now see more variation in ways to style the look. While the 'do looks complex, all you need to get Diane Kruger's chic retro style is a comb and some flexible gel, advises hairstylist Sidney Maignan of the Ted Gibson Salon in NYC.
INSIDER TRICK: Comb a silver dollar-size dollop of flax-based gel through damp hair. "This gooey gel makes hair pliable and won't flake when it dries," says Maignan. Using a wide-tooth, thick-tooth comb, gently drag a section of hair into a curve, holding the comb perpendicular to the floor. Hold the curve in place by pressing the length of an index finger against it while you create another curve below it in the opposite direction. Repeat down the length of your hair, and on the other side of your head. Let hair dry naturally without touching it.
