At the Hollywood premiere of New Year's Eve, Lea Michele wore her hair in retro-inspired, cascading waves. We loved how her hair had definition, but still looked touchable. "Lea's dress was very Old Hollywood, so I wanted to play off of that while still keeping the look modern," says Dove hairstylist Mark Townsend, who created the look for the actress. Townsend began by adding mousse to Michele's damp hair, then blow-drying it into a deep side part. He added a quick spritz of hairspray, then wrapped sections of hair around a two inch curling iron. "Leave the ends a little straighter than the rest of the strand," Townsend advises. "After securing the style with hairspray, be sure to tousle hair a little with a bit of smoothing cream to maintain that soft appearance."
