GET THE LOOK: Prairie skirts were all the rage a few seasons ago, but now the trend is moving up to the hair. Gwyneth Paltrow looks at home on the range (well, Manhattan) with skinny side braids woven with different-color strands.
INSIDER TRICK: The under-layers of hair tend to be darker due to lack of sun exposure. To get a multi-tonal effect in the plait, make sure one of the three sections of the braid is darker. This gives the style a bit of edge and steers it away from Pippi Longstocking.
