GET THE LOOK: It seems like only yesterday that Katie Holmes had an elfin cut. Though it may seem counter-intuitive, growing out a short cut requires more trips to the salon, says Mika Fowler, style director at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills.
INSIDER TRICK: To avoid the dreaded awkward phase, Fowler recommends booking a trim every couple of weeks. Ask your stylist to leave length on the top to help speed up the growing-out process. "And always keep your final result in mind as your hair grows so you don’t give up or get frustrated," adds Fowler.
