"People say you should go darker with your hair color in fall and winter, but that doesn't mean go to dark brown," says celebrity hair colorist George Papanikolas of Joico. Instead, if you're looking for a change, ask your colorist for a warm tone.
INSIDER TRICK: Make a desposit! Counteract the effects of sunlight and color-fading on light hair by rinsing with color-depositing shampoo, advises Papanikolas. "To get the best results, use it only once a week or add some to your regular shampoo to dilute the pigments," Papanikolas adds.
