Celebrity curl guru Ouidad, author of Curl Talk and owner of the eponymous salons (including a new one in L.A.) suggests raking anti-frizz gel through damp hair using your fingers. Then blow hair dry with a diffuser to bring out bouncy and defined coils. After hair is dry, use a curling iron to touch up random sections.
INSIDER TRICK: Are you into medium spirals or maximum ringlets? "The amount of hair your take between your fingers when raking though the gel will determine the size of each curl," Ouidad says. "More hair will lead to bigger curls and less hair will produce smaller ringlets."
