Summery waves don’t always have to be big and beachy. Take Olivia Wilde’s matte texture at the Tribeca premiere of Deadfall. We love how her style is relaxed, but still has volume and movement. “Olivia is gorgeous!” says her hairstylist Peter Butler. Butler created the star’s look by applying mousse to damp strands, then blow-dried them. “After drying, I used a two-inch barrel curling iron to put waves in random sections to give her hair a sexy, tousled look.” He then ran a styling paste through to her waves to create a more roughed-up texture and finished with a quick spritz of hairspray. The result? Effortless bed-head waves with red carpet finesse. Perfect!
