As the temperature climbs and the air gets more humid, the only direction for your hair to go is up! We love how Christina Ricci
’s low bun is polished enough for work, but the wispy bangs add a casual vibe, making for the perfect day-to-night style. “Christina was wearing a Thakoon dress with all these amazing cut-out panels, and it was a very warm evening, so we decided to put her hair up,” said her hairstylist Matthew Monzon. He spritzed a thermal protectant onto Ricci’s damp strands to start, then used a volumizing spray around her roots to add body at her crown. After blowing her hair out with a round brush, Monzon set sections into pin curls, then directed her bangs to the side as he blow-dried them. “I took out the pin curls and pulled her hair into a ponytail at the occipital bone,” he said. “Then, I wrapped the ponytail into a loose bun and secured with hair pins.” A veil of hairspray kept the look in place for the rest of the night, and locked out the frizz-inducing elements.
