For the premiere of
Larry Crowne this week in Los Angeles,
Julia Roberts showed us an innovative way to rock a touch of sultry smokiness in the heat and humidity. Rather than sweeping shadow up to the brown bonewhich will slip and smudge at the first sign of sweatkeep the color contained along your lids. An eye primer will absorb excess oil and give your shadow something to hold onto. Dab a cool gray formula below the crease of your lids, using a tapping, not a brushing motion. (Black and gunmetal gray can look too harsh this time of year.) Keep the shadow away from the inner corners of your eyes and repeat the process along your bottom lashline. Your eyes will have a hint of sculpted definitionand your makeup will stay put.
