If you have a rich, warm skintone like Kerry Washington's, a violet shadow may be more neutral and wearable than you think. At the premiere of Mother and Child in Los Angeles, her amethyst hue, worn just above the crease, was both subtle and striking. Apply sparingly, and choose a shade with a hint of shimmer to really work the look.
