To get an exaggerated poof like Zooey Deschanel, tease sections of hair towards the back of your head by backcombing the roots with a fine-tooth comb. Mist with hairspray and re-tease for added volume. Then smooth over the top with a flat Mason Pearson brush before pulling hair back. Top it off with retro sparkle, by attaching a crystal-encrusted Art Deco barrette like Zooey did here.
