With summer just around the corner, bright makeup is more appropriate than ever, so ease into the trend with a soft pink lip like Hannah Simone. We love the vivid splash of color combined with the satiny texture and sheer finish. “I was inspired by the bright, tropical pops of color in her dress,” said her makeup artist Troy Surratt. To mirror the effect of the star’s outfit, Surratt kept her skin clean, then amped up the drama with lush lashes and a bold lip. Stains can sometimes bring out flaws in your lips, so make sure to gently exfoliate your pout with either a sugar scrub or warm washcloth to keep flaky skin at bay. Then, layer on a lip balm prior to applying the color to lock in moisture. “We knew we wanted to do a bright color on the lips, so we chose a pink lipstick by Tom Ford, and I pressed it on using my fingers to create the stained effect,” he added. Keep building on the shade using the same method if the initial wash of color isn’t intense enough for you, then top off the look with a final swipe of lip balm.
